Size I hook

 Size:  Approximately 5 ½ inches by 5 ½ inches

 (Note:  I used cotton for the sample, however you can use regular worsted weight, or any that will give you the size.)

 Row 1:  Ch 15, sc in second ch from hook and in ea ch across (14 sc).

Row 2:  Ch 1, turn, sc in ea sc across (14 sc).

Rep row 2 until an even square is achieved.

 Edging:

 Ch 1, DO NOT turn, sc evenly along edge of coaster, work 3 sc in each coaster.  Join with sl st to first sc, fasten off.

 Weave in ends.
